.com is moving to .bank

The State Bank Financial domain name (website address) will be going from “.com” to “.bank”. What does this mean to you, our valued customer? State Bank Financial Vice President, IT Director Suzy Ziebell, gives you some insight with this simple Question and Answer below:
Q: What’s this “.bank “ all about?
SZ: It’s all about TRUST in the digital world. Since we can’t actually see who is really sending an email or managing a website, the .bank domain was created to give each of us more confidence that the email or website is REALLY who they say they are. This domain ending is restricted to the banking community and can only be obtained through a strict validation process. Hackers and scammers will have a harder time getting their hands on a .bank domain.
Q: What does it mean for State Bank Financial customers?
SZ: Our customers can have peace of mind that interacting with us online will be more secure. There are several technical requirements that will contribute to .bank being a trusted, protected, more secure and easily identifiable space on the internet. The customer online experience really won’t change much.
Q: Does this mean the State Bank Financial .com site won’t work?
SZ: Not at all! We will configure any requests to our .com address to be automatically forwarded to our new .bank space. We will use a phased approach — moving our website first and then transitioning our email.
